Warning....Huge long post and over use of Pictures
I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Nashville. I am a huge music freak and Nashville has been on my "places I will go before I die" list. My friend Angie invited me to go with her in June for a week. She goes every year to meet up with some of her friends from kentucky and Missouri and they meet in Nashville. She knew how bad I wanted to go and invited me along. I felt dumb going with all these ladies I didnt know but I wanted to go so bad I got over it. So I bit the bullet and bought a plane ticket and that was all it took. It just so happened that it was the big Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw "Brothers of the Sun" concert in Nashville that week so of course we bought tickets to that. (really not a coinsidence, that is why they were all going there that week) It was the time of my life and I will be going back again. We flew out at 5 a.m. so we got to Nashville with a whole day ahead of us and we wasted no time. We stayed in the coolest loft right on printers Ally.

We took a drive outside of the city into the beautiful country that is Tennessee. It was so pretty and 15 minutes from the city. I love it there.

One of the days we drove to Kentucky to see JD Shelburne and Montgomery Gentry at 5th street live. We ate at this weird little place called Hillbilly Tea. It was serious southern food. Not good!

Us camped out on the sidewalk of LP Field waiting to get in, we sat there for about 4 hours...we had sandbar tickets which means that we get right up to the stage, standing only but we had to fight for position right up against it and not standing in the back of the crowd so that is why we camped out all day so we were the first in the gates and ran straight down to the field and got right up against the stage. No one in front of us. It was awesome and my first time in the sandbar. It was a long hot day and that humidity on top of the heat about killed me but I survived and once the sun went down it was just sticky.
They let us in the gates at 2:00 and the concert did not start until 4:00 so we sat on the ground in the sun and the heat and waited...
Jake Owen was the first act. The concert started at 4:00 and went until 11:30. It was a long HOT day in the sun but totally worth it. Being right against the stage we could not have had a better view.
Notice the seats behind him are all empty...not too many people showed up in the heat of the day to watch Jake. Only us sandbar people that had to be there early. But he was worth it for sure. And since we were the only people to sing too he really stayed up close and personal.
Then came Tim McGraw. He was amazing.
Since we were in Nashville where they live, Faith came and sang with him. It was so sweet. Loved that he kissed her goodbye when she was leaving.

This guy was our buddy...he helped us fight off the people that kept trying to get in front of us and were pushing us forward. He was so drunk but so nice to us. We laughed at him all day and night.
Then there was Kenny Chesney...I had never seen him live and I must say...WOW!!!!!!!
The pic above, notice his shirt is dry...below it is soaked with sweat after 2 songs, and that was what we all looked like. I have never experienced heat like that. And he did not come out until after dark.
Then Tim came back out and walked right through us to get back on the stage. I was trying to touch him and take a picture at the same time...so picture is not great. But he high fived us. Those are our hands.

There are many more pics of our travels but I do not have them on the computer yet. But we went to the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium and all of the honky tonks on Broadway and heard a lot of great music. It was a trip that I will never forget and hope to repeat.
