Lamb Day 2010

On Friday it is the youth lamb show. The day begins early to wash our lambs and get them all pretty. And since we were out all night at the rodeo the night before we were really tired. Then we go to the park and get ready...

Then Saturday is officially Lamb Day!!!

In this small town Lamb Day is something everyone looks forward to all year long. It is up there as a national holiday to some folks.

It starts off with a breakfast at the park which we skipped due to being too tired then the parade which Bailee and Clint were both in.

Then there was Bailee and Aubree driving this little jeep through the parade for Sara Lee. They threw candy and tee shirts and of course looked darling!

In this one you can see the huge tote full of candy on the back. They did such a good job.

This is my softball team that rode through on the fire truck. I loved being their coach this year. They are such a cute bunch of girls.

After this we spent the day at the park making lamb sandwiches, going to the craft fair, mutton bustin',sheep hookin,saw dust dive,raffle drawing and then to a dutch oven with Clints family...then to the final ball game and fireworks. (All of which I have no pics)

All in all it was a great Lamb Day and we will start to gear up for next year.

A very busy weekend...First the Ute Stampede...

The week of Lamb Day is always crazy for us. The Ute Stampede in Nephi is usually the same weekend as Lamb Day so we don't have time to go  and it has been a very long time since we have attended the rodeo. Every year they have a neat beginning to the rodeo by having a giant flag attached to a guy that parachutes it into the arena. The National Guard provides people to catch the flag and this year Clint did it Thursday night. It was a fun night at the rodeo, I had forgotten how fun it is. It was also a family night together for Bailee's birthday since we were so busy on her birthday and her dad was at drill weekend on her b-day so it just kinda got overlooked.

The flag as it floated closer to us out of the sky...while we watch this giant flag come in they have God Bless the U.S.A playing. It is really neat.

Then there was this cute little boy sitting in front of me that I could not resist taking his picture... He is my cute nephew Teagon...isn't he darling!

Afterward we spent the night at the carnival that they have at the fair grounds...This is the first time I have ever let Bailee ride carnival rides...I am a mean mom but they scare me and her dad gave in since it was kinda her birthday and she is 10 after all... I have deprived her for 10 years and now I may go another 10...

We were at the carnival until about 1 a.m. and it was a very fun night spent with family and friends. We paid for it the next day with no sleep and Lamb Day officially underway... we did not sleep for the next three nights...(to be continued in Lamb Day post)
